MW Polymers successfully completes ISO transition and passes UVDB audit

MW Polymers, a leading manufacturer of industrial sealants, adhesives and coatings, today announced it has successfully transitioned from ISO 9001:2008 to 9001:2015 and passed its annual UVDB audit.

The ISO transition was led by Office Manager, Audrey Cope, who said: “It’s been a busy few weeks for the team with the UVDB audit and ISO transition. MW Polymers is a firm believer in continuous improvement. Maintaining our UVDB and ISO quality management standards ensures that we do this whilst working within recognised industry frameworks.”

There are several differences between ISO 9001:2008 and 9001:2015 including;

  • Increased alignment and compatibility with other management systems to ensure cohesion
  • The need to assess business risks and opportunities and understand how they could affect the organisation
  • Consideration must be given to the organisational context
  • A greater involvement is required from the top-level management, which must be evidenced through a trickle-down approach
  • There is a greater emphasis on performance management and reviews

Operations Manager, Joe Wild, commented: “Continually reviewing our procedures and policies helps us to remain as streamline as possible. Transitioning to the updated ISO standard and passing our UVDB audit demonstrates we have systems in place to ensure customer satisfaction, staff motivation and continuous improvement, which is of benefit to our customers. Congratulations to the whole team for their dedication and commitment!”

The UVDB audit, which is particularly important for those working within the utilities industry, is completed annually and assesses Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility. Successfully passing the audit indicates MW Polymers is committed to maintaining industry standards, has implemented solid business strategies and is a sustainable company.
