Advanced Rail Infrastructure Protection Solutions

With over 40 years of experience developing high-performance sealants and adhesives, MW Polymers has a proven track record supporting rail networks, rolling stock, and trackside infrastructure. We understand the demanding conditions faced across the rail sector—from constant vibration and weather exposure to heavy mechanical loads and long service cycles—and we are equipped to meet these challenges with confidence.

We offer a comprehensive range of rail-grade sealants and adhesives that comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Many of our products are versatile and suitable for use across carriages, couplings, track systems, depots, and maintenance facilities. When a unique application calls for something more specific, we can also design custom formulations optimized for your environment, installation methods, and long-term durability.

ENCAPX™ encapsulation resins

Encapsulation resins are used to protect electronic control units, wiring looms, sensors, and electrical modules found throughout rail vehicles and trackside systems. Their purpose is to shield sensitive components from moisture, vibration, dirt ingress, cleaning agents, and temperature variations experienced across the UK rail network.

Our polyurethane encapsulation resins are formulated specifically for rail operating conditions. They provide high flexibility and impact resistance, enabling them to absorb constant vibration and dynamic loading without cracking or delaminating. These materials also maintain stable performance across a wide temperature range—from equipment bays and engine compartments to exposed exterior housings.

In addition, they are engineered to meet UL94 V-0 flammability standards, ensuring reliable fire-resistant performance and supporting compliance with critical safety requirements across rolling stock and infrastructure installations.

TITAN WRAP™ – emergency repair bandage

Titan Wrap™ is a rapid-setting, water-activated pipe and line repair bandage engineered for use across UK rail infrastructure and rolling stock maintenance. Once wetted and applied to the affected section, Titan Wrap™ cures within minutes to form a strong, rigid reinforcement sleeve that seals leaks and restores system integrity.

Ideal for trackside emergency repairs, depot servicing, and in-service response work, Titan Wrap™ bonds to metal, plastic, rubber, fibreglass, and composite pipework—even in damp, dirty, or pressurised environments commonly found in rail operations.

Lightweight, compact, and easily stored in service vehicles, Titan Wrap™ requires no specialised tools and can be applied quickly by maintenance teams. This helps minimise disruption, reduce downtime, and maintain operational continuity across key systems such as cooling circuits, compressed air lines, fuel systems, and hydraulic networks.

Once cured, Titan Wrap™ delivers a corrosion-resistant, long-lasting seal capable of withstanding the varied weather, vibration, and operational stresses of the UK rail network.

When reliability and immediate response are essential, Titan Wrap™ provides the trusted repair solution the rail industry depends on.

Emergency Pressurised Line Leak Control
Rapidly seals active leaks on pressurised cooling circuits, air lines, fuel feed systems, and auxiliary service pipes commonly found across rolling stock and trackside infrastructure.

Reinforcement of Corroded or Thinned Pipe Sections
Rebuilds and strengthens weakened pipe walls to restore structural integrity and prevent escalation to full system failure.

Sealing Micro-Cracks and Fine Perforations
Closes hairline fractures, pinholes, and seepage points in metal, composite, or polymer pipework to ensure reliable containment.

Protection of Joints, Couplings, and Threaded Fittings
Encapsulates vulnerable connection points to help prevent leakage and withstand vibration, shock, and the dynamic motion of rail vehicles.

Coverage for Bends, Elbows, and Irregular Pipe Profiles
Forms a uniform wrap over curved or non-standard pipe geometries where rigid clamps and collars cannot form a complete seal.

Field-Deployable Permanent or Temporary Repair Solution
Enables fast and effective repairs trackside or in depot environments where parts availability, system shutdown, or full component replacement is not practical.

Water-Triggered Curing Process
Begins curing on contact with moisture, making it effective in damp, trackside environments or situations where surfaces cannot be fully dried.

High Pressure Resistance
Maintains seal integrity and structural reinforcement even under internal pressure or external mechanical loading.

UL94 Flame-Rated
Complies with recognised flammability standards, supporting safety and regulatory requirements across rail vehicles and infrastructure.

Rapid Cure Time
Reaches handling and service-ready strength within minutes, helping minimise operational disruption and reduce system downtime.

Ready for Field Deployment
Supplied in a format suitable for quick use on-site—no specialised tools, power sources, or controlled workshop conditions required.

Chemical Resistant
Resists degradation when exposed to fuels, hydraulic oils, lubricants, cleaning solutions, and other maintenance chemicals commonly encountered in rail applications.

VOID-EX™ void-filling foams

Our CO₂-Free VOID-EX™ void-filling foam range is designed to address space management, support, and vibration challenges across rolling stock and rail infrastructure. Engineered for lightweight reinforcement, these foams expand to fill gaps, cavities, and irregular enclosures, creating stable, uniform support without adding unnecessary weight.

In demanding rail environments, VOID-EX™ foams help reduce noise and vibration, stabilise components during vehicle movement, and protect sensitive equipment from mechanical stress. They bond effectively to the metals, composites, and engineered plastics commonly used in carriage interiors, equipment bays, cable routing systems, and trackside installations.

With a consistent cell structure, controlled expansion, and low density, VOID-EX™ delivers reliable performance while supporting weight efficiency—critical for energy use, vehicle stability, and long-term structural performance. Once cured, the foam provides strong dimensional stability and long-term durability, even under fluctuating temperatures, humidity, and continuous vibration.

VOID-EX™ products are available in multiple grades to suit specific rail applications, including lightweight structural reinforcement, vibration dampening, and cushioning for electronics enclosures, interior panels, access channels, conduits, and equipment housings.

Bulkhead and Panel Void Filling
Filling internal gaps within composite, metal, or sandwich panels to reduce vibration noise and increase structural rigidity across carriage interiors and equipment housings.

Electronics Bay and Control Equipment Bracing
Stabilising wiring looms, control units, signalling electronics, and monitoring systems to reduce vibration-related wear during rail operation.

Pipe Runs, Cable Trays, and Vent Duct Stabilisation
Limiting movement of cabling, pipework, and ventilation ducting exposed to continuous vibration and track-induced dynamic loading.

Saloon and Cab Interior Panel Reinforcement
Improving stiffness in interior wall, ceiling, and floor panels without unnecessary weight gain—enhancing durability and passenger comfort.

Fairing, Nose Cone, and External Housing Support
Providing lightweight internal backing for thin composite enclosures to prevent flexing and cracking under wind load, vibration, and pressure variations.

Engine Compartment and Equipment Bay Void Management
Filling irregular spaces where vibration damping is required to reduce resonance, rattling, and component fatigue in traction power units and service bays.

Noise and Vibration Mitigation
Absorbing mechanical and acoustic energy to help lower interior noise levels in saloons, cabs, equipment compartments, and passenger spaces.
